In 1959, the Credit Union Association of New York (previously know as the New York State Credit Union League) established the "Sidney Stahl Memorial Foundation," a charitable arm of the Association whose purpose was to assist New York credit union volunteers with their educational and training needs.
The Sidney Stahl Memorial Foundation was refocused and renamed to the New York Credit Union Foundation (NYCUF) in 1995 to advance the ideals and goals of the credit union movement in New York State, with an emphasis on consumer financial education, especially among young people. The New York Credit Union Foundation, a 501(c)(3) public charity, is the charitable arm of the Credit Union Association of New York.
