How does the NYCUF put your CIF money to work?

In 2005, NYCUF received $123,325 in CIF interest income. Of that 70 percent was allocated for grant-making programs, training, small credit union initiatives, the development phase of the international partnership with Puerto Rico, and Foundation projects including LifeSmarts and Kid’s Cash Kit & Caboodle. 30 percent supported general operations.

For 2006, NYCUF anticipates receiving $175,000 in CIF interest income and will follow the same 70/30 split: grant making programs, and Foundation projects and general operating support respectively. The grant making programs include professional development grants and financial literacy and capacity grants. The projects for this year include, but are not limited to:

  • Advanced NEFE Training
  • Biz Kids
  • Brass Student Program
  • Kid’s Cash Kit & Caboodle
  • LifeSmarts
  • Making the Strategic Connection
