Money & Me is a hands-on experience that teaches teenagers the basics of money and how to make it work for them. The program covers budgeting, credit advantages and pitfalls, savings and checking accounts, how to save for a big purchase and investing for the future.
The brass|Student Program provides high schools with access to brass|Magazine, a personal finance publication written by young adults that delivers relevant content for classroom discussions and activities. The program also includes online resource centers for teachers and students, and the Credit Unions for College scholarship database.

LifeSmarts…the Ultimate Consumer Challenge is a game show style competition for teenagers designed to better prepare them as responsible consumers in today’s dynamic marketplace. Questions cover personal finance, consumer rights and responsibilities, health and safety, technology and the environment.

Biz Kid$ is a fun, 30-minute PBS television series for kids about making and managing money. It highlights young entrepreneurs who have turned hobbies into successful businesses, raised funds for good causes and much more.

The Kid’s Cash Kit & Caboodle includes practical, hands-on tools to teach children and their families the basics of money management using the concepts of saving, spending and sharing.

Who Are You? Identity Thieves Really Want to Know! is an educational program that utilizes marketing materials, train-the-trainer workshops and instructive sessions to help credit unions and community organizations inform their members about the dangers of identity theft.

bizKID$ to do for Financial Literacy What 'Bill Nye' Did for Science

Biz Kid$bizKID$ is a fun, Emmy Award winning 30-minute PBS television series about entrepreneurship and financial literacy that entertains and teaches children how to make and manage money, while inspiring them to pursue their passions. Junior Achievement (JA) Worldwide has partnered with the producers of Bill Nye the Science Guy to produce the show. BizKID$ is underwritten by America’s Credit Unions—a coalition of credit unions, credit union leagues/assocations and foundations, affiliated credit union system organizations and credit union service providers.The New York Credit Union Foundation (NYCUF) is proud to be one of the underwriters of this exciting TV series.

What is a bizKID?

A bizKID …knows about money, knows how to succeed, is an entrepreneur, is job ready, has compassion for others, can be anybody, sets savings goals, has a plan, keeps track of spending, gives to others, identifies a need, and follows a budget.

Target Audience

 

The target audience for bizKID$ is children ages 9-14, and their parents. However, anyone interested in financial literacy and entrepreneurship will enjoy the show. By utilizing elements of direct education with offbeat illustrations, real life profiles, unique characters, animation, and music, bizKID$ is a show that has mass appeal. JA Worldwide has developed lessons plans and resources that correspond with each episode. These learning materials, which can be used by teachers, youth group volunteers and parents, are targeted to students in grades four through eight and are available in the Educational Tools area on the bizKID$ website.
