Free Credit Reports Are Available to Everyone in America
For information on the Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act’s (FACT Act) requirement that entitles all consumers to one free copy of their credit report each year, and for help in reading credit reports and keeping them current and accurate, please visit http://www.consumersunion.org/issues/creditmatters.html.
Consumers are entitled to one free credit report each year from each of the three consumer reporting agencies listed above. One suggested technique to ensure the accuracy of the information in a credit report is to order one from each agency every 4 (four) months; thus receiving three (one from each) every calendar year.

Opting Out
You may choose to exclude your name from CRA lists for unsolicited credit and insurance offers. Creditors and insurers may use file information as the basis for sending you unsolicited offers of credit or insurance. Such offers must include a toll-free phone number for you to call if you want your name and address removed from future lists. If you call, you may select to have your name removed for two years or permanently. If you select the option for permanent removal, you will be mailed a Notice of Election to Opt Out form to complete and return.
The toll-free number for all of the national CRAs is (888) 5-OPTOUT or (888) 567-8688 or you can submit your request on-line at www.optoutprescreen.com.
