How to Apply for an Organizational Grant
The New York Credit Union Foundation demonstrates its commitment to enhance the quality of life for New Yorkers by supporting activities of other non-profit organizations that:
- Improve financial literacy
- Promote access to financial services and counseling
- Address savings and wealth building initiatives
- Provide professional development opportunities for educators related to financial education
- Develop leadership skills of students and educators
- Create connections between credit unions and schools or community organizations
Application Process
The application form can be completed and submitted online if you have Adobe Acrobat Reader version 6 or higher installed. Please note that you will not be able to save the document electronically. Be sure to print a copy for your files before hitting the “Submit” button. If you are unable to submit the application via e-mail, please print the application and mail it to us.
Grant Range
$250-$1,500
Eligibility Requirements
Applications will only be accepted from a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization located in New York State that maintains a full-time professional staff, delivers programs and services within New York State and has a credit union as a project partner.
Project Types Many types of projects will be considered for funding, including, but not limited to:
- youth or adult financial education programs
- homeownership programs or services
- financial counseling
- providing the “unbanked” with access to transaction services
- microfinance loans
- savings building awareness
- tax preparation
- entrepreneurship
- train-the-trainer programs
- activities that prepare students and teachers for a successful learning experience
- programs that develop the leadership skills of students and educators
- collaborations between credit unions and schools or community organizations.
Deadlines
Applications must be submitted July 31, 2009.
Applicants will receive notification of a grant award decision by August 31, 2009.
