In 2008, $257,700 in earned interest income* from the CIF was allocated as follows.

  • 39 percent ($101, 464) for grant making programs
    • Professional Development Grants: 81 grants totaling $43,258 to 45 credit unions
    • Making the Strategic Connection-CUANY: $20,000
    • REAL Solutions-CUANY: $15,000
    • Biz Kid$--WA CU League (national production)/Albany launch event: $11,830
    • Smart Money: 2 grants totaling $4,626 to credit unions
    • Organizational Grants: 6 grants totaling $6,750
  • 31 percent ($78,995) for youth financial literacy programs
    • NEFE High School Financial Planning Program
    • LifeSmarts
    • Brass Student Program
    • Kid's Cash Kit & Caboodle
    • BizKid$
  • 30 percent ($77,340) for some of the NYCUF's general operating expenses
