NEFE
The need for financial education has never been greater. People are saving less, spending more, and incurring debt at faster rates than ever before. The National Endowment for Financial Education® (NEFE®) offers the High School Financial Planning Program (HSFPP) in New York in partnership with Cornell University Cooperative Extension and the New York Credit Union Foundation.
The HSFPP is a noncommercial, flexible, and turnkey curriculum that provides you with an opportunity to address youth financial literacy in your community. This program is built around a methodology and philosophy that have been proven in independent studies to change students’ knowledge, actions, and self-confidence related to money.
Today’s teenagers, more than any previous generation, will be required to take more personal responsibility for actively managing finances throughout their lives. Individuals who understand financial planning concepts and investment principles will have a significant advantage over those who do not. The HSFPP seeks to build a sound and secure future for the country’s youth by building the cornerstone skills that characterize sound money management.
