CUNA Mutual Golf Tournament Raises $25,000

The CUNA Mutual Group Golf Tournament, recently held at the Lake Placid Club Mountain Course, raised more than $25,000 for the New York Credit Union Foundation. One hundred and ten golf devotees from credit unions across the state, along with vendors and credit union friends, came out to support the Foundation’s initiatives.

“This is the most money we have ever raised from the annual tournament,” said Mike Vadala, president/CEO of The Summit FCU, who served as the event committee co-chair. “I am grateful to my fellow committee members, including co-chair Chris Guild from CUNA Mutual Group, Michael Castellana from SEFCU, Mike Parsons from First Source FCU and Dan Rourke from First Heritage FCU, for helping to secure 23 sponsorships.”

A foursome from Dannemora FCU was the tournament winner. Coming in second place was a foursome of players from Albany Firemen’s FCU, Multi-Bank Securities and Olean Area FCU. The third-place foursome represented School Systems FCU and CUC Mortgage Corporation.

“It was a beautiful day for golf, and it was great to see

so many people come out in support of the Foundation,

said Diane LaVigna-Wixted, executive director of NYCUF.

“Because of their participation and the generosity of our

sponsors, NYCUF will be able to continue offering crucial

financial education programs and grant funding to credit

unions across the state.”

The New York Credit Union Foundation serves credit unions, schools and community organizations that help improve the financial literacy and independence of New Yorkers and promote the credit union difference. For more information about the Foundation, visit www.nycuf.org.
