(May 28, 2009 - Albany, NY) –The Board of the Credit Union Association of New York appointed two individuals to serve as Trustees of the New York Credit Union Foundation, effective immediately. Joining are Christopher J. Guild, account consultant manager, CUNA Mutual Group and Michael S. Vadala, president/CEO, The Summit FCU. The third addition, Alfred Frosolone, CEO, Niagara’s Choice FCU joins the Foundation board as the newly elected chair of the Credit Union Association of New York. Together they will work with seated trustees in establishing policies and overseeing the operation of the Foundation.
Guild has been with CUNA Mutual since 1996. In October 2006, he was named account consultant manager for the organization’s East Region. Before that Guild held positions as financial solutions officer, account relationship manager and lending specialist. Prior to joining CUNA Mutual, he spent six years as assistant manager for Syracuse Fire Department Employees FCU. Guild graduated from the Rochester Institute of Technology in 1989 with a B.S. in economics and LeMoyne College in 2004 with an MBA. He is also a 2004 graduate of CUNA’s Management School.
Vadala is the president and CEO of The Summit FCU, which has 56,000 members from over 500 groups and $463 million in assets. He is a past chairman (2005-2006) of NAFCU and has chaired several of the organization’s committees. Vadala is also a past president of the New York State Telephone Credit Union Association and still serves on its board. Vadala graduated from Syracuse University in 1978 with a B.S. in accounting and joined the staff of the credit union in 1984 as controller, was promoted to vice president in 1992 and to president/CEO in 1995.
Frosolone, CEO of Niagara’s Choice FCU, was elected chair of the Association’s board of directors during their Annual Business Meeting last week in Albany.
