(January 18 - Albany, NY) – Troy resident, Tony Schilling, has joined the New York Credit Union Foundation as financial education specialist. In his new position, Schilling will be responsible for managing the Foundation’s youth financial education programs, including outreach to stakeholders in the field of education and community organizations.
Before joining the Foundation, Schilling was an associate in instructional services for the New York State Education Department. He has also been an adjunct lecturer for the State University of New York at Albany and a high school teacher-coordinator at both Watervliet and Catskill high schools.
"Tony brings a long record of accomplishment in the education field to this position," said Diane LaVigna-Wixted, executive director of the Foundation. "His appointment will help expand and enhance our programs and enrich the Foundation’s commitment to financial education."
Schilling graduated from Sienna College in 1973 with a Bachelor of Science in marketing. In 1976, he earned his Master of Science degree in business and distributive education from the State University of New York at Albany. In addition, he received Teacher of the Year Awards from Watervliet High School (1978-1979) and the Watervliet City School District (1980-1981).
