Testimonial Dinner Raises $10,000 for NYCUF

(June 13 - Albany, NY) – The New York State Credit Union League recently held a testimonial dinner for its outgoing board chair, Vicky Matteson. More than 70 credit unionists attended the dinner at the Pearl Restaurant & Lounge in Albany to honor Matteson.

The event raised $10,000 with proceeds going to the Foundation.

"On behalf of the New York State Credit Union League, I would like to thank Vicky Matteson for serving as board chairperson since 2005," said William J. Mellin, League president/CEO.

"In addition, she has been dedicated to the growth and development of the Foundation, especially in its efforts to assist small credit unions, as a member of its board."

Matteson praised her fellow board members for their support during her tenure as chairperson.

"It was an honor to lead the board and the League during a time of change in governance structure and planning for the future," she said. "It was only because of the support of my fellow board members and League staff that we were able to set a new direction and ensure our organization is poised for growth in an ever-changing regulatory and legislative environment."

The New York Credit Union Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the New York State Credit Union League, works to help improve the financial literacy and independence of New Yorkers. For more information about the Foundation, visit www.nycuf.org.
