Bourgeois Joins NY CU Foundation Board

(August 16 - Albany, NY) – The New York Credit Union Foundation (NYCUF) is happy to announce that Linda Bourgeois, CEO of UFirst Federal Credit Union in Plattsburgh, has agreed to join the Foundation’s Board of Trustees, effective immediately.

Diane LaVigna-Wixted, executive director of the Foundation, announced the appointment.

"We are pleased to appoint Linda, who has a strong understanding and passion for the credit union philosophy, to our Foundation Board," said LaVigna-Wixted.

James Mack, chairman of the NYCUF Board of Trustees added, "Ms. Bourgeois is a strong advocate of the ideals of the Foundation and the credit union movement and will be a welcome addition to the board."

Bourgeois joined UFirst FCU in 1989 as a member service/collections representative moving up to the position of loan officer and then assistant manager. In 2001 she became interim manager and in 2002 was named the credit unions’ CEO.

A 1999 graduate of the Credit Union National Association (CUNA), Bourgeois also serves as president of the Adirondack chapter of the New York State Credit Union League.
